“Drive for Tomorrow” is a platform dedicated to becoming an enabler of a new conversation around climate change and fuel choice. It is grounded in facts and tools that empower people to see the truth for themselves.
The platform, through emotionally engaging content, aims to demonstrate the detrimental effect of our current behaviour on the environment, on our health and on the sustained growth of our economy.
We believe that each one of us has the power to create change, whether big or small, to make the future better for ourselves, for our children, and for our world. Here you will find actionable recommendations aimed at helping you reducing the harmful effects of our habits on the climate.
The “Drive for Tomorrow” platform was born out of Aygaz’s passion to support the sustainable and responsible development of the Turkish economy. Aygaz considers climate change not only as a factor that threatens natural life, but also a major hazard, which has the potential to damage our living conditions both socially and economically.
As a leader in providing energy solutions in Turkey, Aygaz has taken it upon itself to raise awareness on and combat the ever-increasing levels of carbon emissions. It has adopted the 20-20-20 targets that was set by the European Union in 2007. Accordingly, Aygaz aims to cut down its greenhouse gas emissions and energy needs by 20% while increasing its renewable energy use by 20%. With these targets, Aygaz has not only launched innovative and technological projects that focus on energy efficiency and the preservation of resources, but has also raised the level of awareness in the institutions with which it cooperates.
“Drive for Tomorrow” is not the first Aygaz initiative that aims to raise awareness about climate change. In 2010, the company launched the “Yarın Hava Nasıl Olacak?” initiative in collaboration with REC in order to raise awareness amongst high school and university students. At the end of the initiative in 2011, experts had trained a total of 8.360 people during 90 minute sessions, for 5 days a week, in 5 sessions per day totalling 12.540 man hours.
Aygaz is also a member of the Turkish Climate Platform established by TÜSİAD and REC in 2011. The platform aims to support initiatives launched to fight climate change and to facilitate the transition to a low-carbon economy. Aygaz’s Managing Director is an active member of the Climate Change Platform leaders group.
